Attributes of Polytheists are elaborated in Holy Quran. Verses should be cognized well to
identify behavior of Polytheists and not to resemble them. Followings are the verses which
explain the attributes of Polytheists.
1- Polytheists use mediators(protectors) to bring themselves nearer to Allah!
In order to Surah Az-Zumar, verse 3 (39:3); “And those who take protectors besides Him
[say], "We only worship them that they may bring us nearer to Allah in position.", it is
understood that Polytheists use mediators.
2- Polytheists have intercessors in the world!
Surah Jonah, verse 18 (10:18); “And they worship other than Allah that which neither harms
them nor benefits them, and they say, "These are our intercessors with Allah " Say, "Do you
inform Allah of something He does not know in the heavens or on the earth?" Exalted is He
and high above what they associate with Him”
3- Polytheists Request Help from the Dead!
Surah Al-Jinn, verse 18 (72:18); “And [He revealed] that the masjids are for Allah, so do not
invoke(pray) with Allah anyone.”
Surah Jonah, verse 106 (10:106); “And do not invoke besides Allah that which neither
benefits you nor harms you, for if you did, then indeed you would be of the
wrongdoers(unjust, evildoers, polytheists).”
Surah Al-Ahqaf, verse 5 (46:5); “And who is more astray(misguided) than he who
invokes(prays) besides Allah those who will not respond to him until the Day of Resurrection,
and they, of their invocation, are unaware.”
Surah An-Naml, verse 62 (27:62); “Is He [not best] who responds to the desperate one when
he calls upon Him and removes evil and makes you inheritors of the earth? Is there a deity
with Allah ? Little do you remember.”
4- Polytheists Don’t Approve Judgement of The Quran
Surah Jonah, verse 15 (10:15); “ And when Our verses are recited to them as clear
evidences, those who do not expect the meeting with Us say, "Bring us a Qur'an other than
this or change it." Say, [O Muhammad], "It is not for me to change it on my own accord. I
only follow what is revealed to me. Indeed I fear, if I should disobey my Lord, the punishment
of a tremendous(Resurrection, awful) Day."
5- Polytheists Worship Their Fathers!
The people who do not question and think the learnings of their father, they bless who
tell/dispense superstition. Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 170 (2:170); “And when it is said to them,
"Follow what Allah has revealed," they say, "Rather, we will follow that which we found our
fathers doing." Even though their fathers understood nothing, nor were they guided?”
6- Polytheists Surrender Scholars!
Surah Al-Tawbah, verse 31 (9:31); “They have taken their scholars and monks as lords
besides Allah, and [also] the Messiah, the son of Mary. And they were not commanded
except to worship one God; there is no deity except Him. Exalted is He above whatever they
associate with Him.”
The ones who surrender monks, rabbis, sheikh will express their regrets at afterlife
Surah Al-Ahzab, verse 67 (33:67); “And they will say, "Our Lord, indeed we obeyed our
masters and our dignitaries, and they led us astray from the [right] way.”
Surah Al-Ahzab, verse 68 (33:68); “Our Lord, give them double the punishment and curse
them with a great curse."
7- Polytheists Seperate to Factions!
Factions are forbidden in Quran. Allah defines the people who seperate to factions as
Polytheists at Ar-Rum Surah verse 32 (30:32); “[Or] of those who have divided their religion
and become sects, every faction rejoicing in what it has.”
8- Polytheists Likes Stoning People to Death!
Al-Kahf Surah, verses 19-20 (18:19-20); “And similarly, We awakened them that they might
question one another. Said a speaker from among them, "How long have you remained
[here]?" They said, "We have remained a day or part of a day." They said, "Your Lord is
most knowing of how long you remained. So send one of you with this silver coin of yours to
the city and let him look to which is the best of food and bring you provision from it and let
him be cautious. And let no one be aware of you. Indeed, if they come to know of you, they
will stone you or return you to their religion. And never would you succeed, then - ever."
9- Polytheists Likes Setting Fire People to Death!
As-Saffat Surah, verse 97 (37:97); “They said, "Construct for him a furnace and throw him
into the burning fire."
10- Polytheists Thinks Their Opinions as Allah’s Judgement
Al-A’raf Surah, verse 28 (7:28); “And when they commit an immorality, they say, "We found
our fathers doing it, and Allah has ordered us to do it." Say, "Indeed, Allah does not order
immorality. Do you say about Allah that which you do not know?"
11- Polytheists Do Not Accept Monotheism
Al-A’raf Surah, verse 70 (7:70); “They said, "Have you come to us that we should worship
Allah alone and leave what our fathers have worshipped? Then bring us what you promise
us, if you should be of the truthful."
12- Polytheists Do Not Like Ordinary Life of Prophet
Al-Furqan Surah, verse 7 (25:7); “And they say, "What is this messenger that eats food and
walks in the markets? Why was there not sent down to him an angel so he would be with
him a warner?”
13- Polytheists Lay Their Mistakes to Allah
Al-An’am Surah, verse 148 (6:148); “Those who associated with Allah will say, "If Allah had
willed, we would not have associated [anything] and neither would our fathers, nor would we
have prohibited anything." Likewise did those before deny until they tasted Our punishment.
Say, "Do you have any knowledge that you can produce for us? You follow not except
assumption, and you are not but falsifying."
14- Polytheists Side with Strong Position Even Blowing Off Truths
Al-Furqan Surah, verse 41 (25:41); “And when they see you, [O Muhammad], they take you
not except in ridicule, [saying], "Is this the one whom Allah has sent as a messenger?”
